Take You Home (Lipscombe) She knows to hide all the bruising on her arms, When she's outside, when she's alone. Always with her, even when she's alone, Her one and only soul. She's stuck, out of luck and Can't miss the love that she's never Known, that she'll never know. When he touches her, it still burns, but she's Lost, so long, nowhere to turn. When he hits her, it still hurts, but she's Lost, baby she's lost for words. She's scared of leaving, and she's scared to return When there's nowhere else to go. She's scared to turn the key, open the door She stops and waits across the road. She's stuck, out of luck and Can't miss the love that she's never Known, that she'll never know. When he touches her, it still burns, but she's Lost, so long, nowhere to turn. When he hits her, it still hurts, but she's Lost, baby she's lost for words. When she thinks of death, he looks at her, says, "I love you babe, ooohhh, oh I want to take you home". When she thinks of death, he looks at her, says, "I love you babe, aaaahhh, oh I want to take you home".

Shrouded Path (Lipscombe) Out in the woods, little creatures, Wander on a lonely path at night, Pitch black amongst trees and bushes, By torchlight they scurry out of sight. Upon the pathway, The night's protective shell, Forever here with you, Under your spell. The lashing branches, Shall always let us pass, Beside the Roman road, On a shrouded path. All alone on the pathway, Darkness before and behind, This Roman road's long forgotten, Shrouded in the dark of the night. Slip down the pathway, That you know oh so well, Stop by the brook and wait, For time shall tell. Go down the pathway, That you know oh so well, You'll never walk alone, They're with you still. Upon the pathway, The night's protective shell, Forever here with you, Under your spell. The lashing branches, Shall always let us pass, Beside the Roman road, On a shrouded path. The creatures and I share a purpose, Running headlong from horrors behind, No one can see us on the path now, Hunter and hunted, both are blind.

Lost Amongst... (Lipscombe) The battered stones and rusty waters, The grasses where the adders lurk, The summer heat has dried out all the pathways. We walked along the woodland footpath, Shaded from the summer sun, Together in the quiet, all alone. Though you're lost to me forever, I'm never going to give you up, For lost amongst the rocks and shadowed places. The words ring out in empty spaces, The rain is falling on the leaves, And I dread to think of you so far from me. There's so many people now, There's no room for the woods and fields, In the lost and lonely city all is concrete.

Hell on Earth (Lipscombe) You’re confused and you’re tired, Too worn out to decide, As we’re changing what’s right, And we’re changing your mind. Sleep, Deep, Relinquish: everything’s Beyond your control. You’ll never know, Who speaks the truth, Who’s being used. You’ve no idea, What to believe, You’re confused. You will accept, You will accept, Eternal war. You will accept, You will accept, That you’re poor. You feel you can’t fight, And you cannot decide, When you’re traumatised, You can’t control your mind. Nations disappear. One World Order’s on the way, There’s no such thing as sovereign nations, In One World Legal System, Just rulers and servants, Just rulers and servants. I make your children blind, So history’s only seen by elite eyes, And none shall know: in the past man was free, They must ask for everything from me. Time passes by, As we sit and wait for generations to die, Your grandchildren chipped: brains wired with an aim, Slave boys, slave girls the same.

about

'Exquisite Music For Discerning Adults' is the first EP from Falaena: a progressive rock / dream-pop group.

Bassist Christopher and drummer Danilo began work on initial ideas in spring 2014, with keyboard / synth specialist Alex soon joining and contributing to the unique arrangements. Christopher is a highly original composer and songwriter (those requiring more evidence are advised to look for his solo instrumental music), and his songs 'Take You Home', 'Shrouded Path', and 'Lost Amongst...' form the first half of this EP.

Keyboardist Alex provides the textures and top-line melodies which characterise Falaena's sound, as well as contributing his own hard-hitting instrumental 'Ascendence', which opens the second (more progressive) half of 'Exquisite Music For Discerning Adults'.

Christopher, Danilo and Alex worked together on 'Hell On Earth', which continues the more progressive approach of 'Ascendence'.

Laura Galatolo adds the beautiful, clear vocals which bring the songs to life. Her distinctive voice unites the varied moods of the EP, and will enchant the listener.
